DESCRIPTION:
EPW - Louis Mallet a Paris, ultra thin high grade lever, 48mm, 18K gold OF original case, engraved initials inside rear, signed gold cuvette bearing attributes, engine turned silvered dial, KWKS via male key, lever escapement, 16J, gilt mvt, s#1599 within case. Comes with special male key for winding and setting. Gross weight of assembled watch 37.7 dwt (58.8 g). Louis Mallet was watchmaker to the Duke of Orleans ("Horologer du Duc d'Orleans"), and was active circa 1790 to 1824. Mvt is only 3.5mm in thickness, and cased watch has front/rear thickness of 8.4mm with crystal included.
CONDITION:
Mvt: Running, excellent cosmetic mvt condition overall, some micro-fine scratches; excellent dial with some fine to micro-fine scratches; fine hands, minute with much finish loss; case shows very light wear, bow impressions to upper rear, engine turning detail lost at rear shoulder; bow pivots semi-freely; good glass crystal.
